Alasande Kayee/Karamani/Hann hurulli/Long Beans are used in cooking palya, sambar and gravies. Long Beans Sabzi is very easy to prepare and goes well with chapati.
Ingredients:
Alasaande/Karamani/Long Beans - 250 gms chopped finely
Onion - 1 big sized chopped finely
Tomato - 1 chopped finely
Curry Leaves - 1 strand
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Coconut grated - 1 tbsp
Salt to taste
Oil - 1 tbsp
Jeera Seeds - 1 tsp
Turmeric - 1/2 tsp
Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Coriander Leaves: a handful chopped finely
Procedure:
1. Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard seeds, when it starts spluttering add Jeera Seeds, Curry leaves,Turmeric, fine chopped onion. Fry till it turns soft.
2. Add chopped Long beans and tomatoes. Add very little water and close it with the lid.
3. When Long beans turns soft add coriander powder, garam masala or sambar powder, chilli powder, grated coconut. Mix well. Add salt to taste.
4. Fry for a minute. Garnish with coriander leaves
Alasande kayee Palya/Karamani Palya/Long beans Sabzi is ready to serve. It goes well with chapati.
