         Gulab Jamun

Gulab Jamuns are a popular sweet prepared all over India . SIMPLE & EASY Indian specialty. Calorie rich dessert is soft & fluffy which melts in the mouth with sugar syrup. Gulab Jamun can be enjoyed both hot as well as cold.

Ingredients:

1. Gulab Jamun ready mix - 200 gms

2. Milk - 3-4 tbsp

3. Oil - For deep frying the jamuns

4. Sugar - 1 cup

5. Water - 1 cup

6. Elachi powder - 1/2 tsp


Procedure:

1. Mix sugar and water  (equal in ratio 1:1) in a big vessel and bring it to boil on a medium flame. Add elachi powder to the boiled syrup.

2. Mix Jamun ready mix with required quantity of milk to make a dough, (don't use water). knead gently into smooth dough.

3. Make small balls out of the dough.

4. Take kadai with oil or ghee and deep fry all the small jamun balls (step 3) on a medium flame. Fry till it turns golden in color.

5. Remove from oil and drop all the balls in the sugar syrup. Close the lid for a 15 - 20 mins. Soaked Jamuns observes the syrup and increases in size.

6. Serve hot or cold Gulab Jamuns :)
